Gomer Grunt's moved from Down the Dock to Up The Creek. We're not sure that Gomer went with both paddles however. Not being a sure thing is one of Gomer's personality traits. I mean it's really one of the things Gomer cultivates in himself. Having to travel up The Creek to check Gomer out from time to time has opened up a vast array of additional characters. Gomer provides as long as it's not "expected". Expectations too, are not something Gomer wishes to fulfil. The whole thing gets rather tricky. Staying Gomer's friend, that is.
In any case, Up The Creek, perhaps without a paddle, is where Gomer's living these days. I don't suppose that Gomer will be able to live up The Creek for very long. They're filling The Creek up with rocks and pebbles, so they can bang great big pylons into The Creek bed, so they can tie fancy wharves to the pylons, so people with great big white plastic boats can show off their great big white plastic boats to their friends right after work. The Creek's close to The Money.
There are lots of people living on their boats anchored in The Creek these days besides Gomer. Some of them have been there, off and on, for thirty years but I don't think so many people have ever been there all at once before, and then stayed. The Creek's getting pretty crowded what with all the people with great big white plastic boats tied to the hard and the Creek People anchored.
The people with great big white plastic boats throwing rocks and pebbles into the water so they can bang great big pylons into The Creek bed don't like all the boats being anchored there. I figure if you have just forked out an enormous amount of money for a great big white plastic boat to show off to your friends after work, and on top of that you've forked out another enormous amount of money for a very fancy slip where only other great big white plastics boats are allowed to be, then it's probably pretty annoying if what you see "in your view" is not a great, big, white or plastic boat, and on top of all of that the people who own those not great, big, white or plastic boats didn't fork out enormous amounts of money to be there!
I understand but also know that every time we make sure that our view it just exactly what we want to see, then it turns into a bad thing. For me anyway. I keep being taught I have to be flexible! I think probably views are something that aren't really supposed to be under complete control. The whole definition of "view" encompasses "broad".
The thing is, if you've got the kind of money to buy a great big white plastic boat just to show off to your friends after work, then you've also got the kind of money to "prove your right". It's just that now that Gomer has had to move Up The Creek I miss him and if Gomer has to leave I'm wondering where he'll go after that? I'd have to miss him more then!
Where do you go after you've been Up The Creek without a paddle?
